I recently helped my friend unlock her iPhone, two days ago. She went down to Buffalo to buy it and came back north to Ontario. I looked at the box she handed to me and and confirmed that the serial # week was indeed Week 44. At first I was unsure if I could even unlock the iPhone. I did the regular *#307# call etc, and added the prefs:1f. Finally I was in teh settings menu and had immediately checked the details of the iPhone. The iPhone was indeed Week 44 with 1.1.1 Firmware and the 4.13 Baseband (the one that works). I was able to successfuly unlock it.
This post is just to say that even Week 44 iPhones do have 1.1.1 on them and are unlockable. I used jailbreakme.com btw.
Confirmed..I received the phones yesterday both came with 1.1.1
All Good..Think I will hold off from the purchases for a while, it's getting too close to 1.1.2
4 iPhones bought yesterday at Fifth Avenue in NY, all 1.1.1 and unpatched for tiff exploit
iPhone 3GS 32GB White
iPhone 3G 16GB White
iPhone 3G 8GB Black
MacBook Pro 15" - 10.6.3
iMac 20" - 10.6.3
OSx86 10.5.7 - Gateway GT3020m
OSx86 10.6.3 - Assembled
OSx86 10.6.3 - Acer Aspire One
OSx86 10.6.3 - Dell Mini 10v
The fact that the T3 iPhone was week 42 does not mean that "ALL" iPhones on week 42 or 43 are 1.1.2.
Come on, think: Apple might have just upgraded the phone to 1.1.2, so that means NOTHING AT ALL.
The real game starts when we get 1.1.2 OTB.
