A possible fix on bricked iphone
Just wanna share a little tip I tried.
Cut the story short: I switched between OSX and windows, trying to get everything to work. Somehow, when I ran iBrickr, iphone did not boot up as expected. So I reset it. It was able to boot into normal mode, locked, of course. When I tried to run iBrickr again, still no luck. Then I ran itune windows to restore it, and got the scaring error that it could not be restored! I tried to unplug/plug several times, and restart itunes a few times. No luck. The good thing was, it could still boot into the normal mode (locked).
Then I suspect iBrickr left some corrupted code somewhere. When booting into the restore mode, iphone got to execute the corrupted code if not intervened very quickly.
So I switched to OSX and ran INdependence's jailbreak, which automatically runs right after iphone boots into the recovery mode. As I hoped, INdependence jailbroke the iphone successfully. To be safe, I restored it with itune right after that. Thanks god, my phone was saved.
Hope my experience can help.

Closer to a fix?
I replied to a related post (http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3544) detailing how thing went wrong.
Today I got my iPhone to boot to the "Activate iPhone" "connect to iTunes" screen that you get when you buy the phone using a firewire cable but obviously iTunes cannot connect to it. As soon as I unplug it the phone shuts off. Using a USB cable plugged into a Mac won't power the phone, only using a USB cable plugged into AC power, but still phone does not boot, loops the apple logo. Also I cant get into recovery mode on the firewire cable.
My question is... Is there a way to establish comm. to restore from firewire? And does anyone know If I can use a iPod USB + Firewire to power the phone with firewire and comm. to the phone through USB, will both ends work at the same time. Last why is the iPhone dying without a cabled power source? Is the batter uncharged (I highly doubt it)?
Please help, I don't want to buy the USB + Firewire cable and get nowhere. The sucker is U$D 50 here in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Thanks.
