Default Is it possible to change the alert on incoming SMS messages?

What I mean by that is when you get a new text message you get a very short beeping noise. Is it possible to change it to any other ringtone at all? I've looked all over the phone and as far as I know its not on there

    Help!

    look under settings, sounds

on 1.0.2, you can change it using ibrickr

go to SOUNDS, and you can customize so many diff sounds

if you have version 1.0.2, use iBrickr
if you have versions 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, use WINSCP
