Poor signal strength
I'm using Germany's T-Mobile and E-Plus and no matter where I am, sometimes I get a signal, sometimes I do not and it says "No Service." Am I the only one? Is this normal? Does it have something to do with the free software unlock?
My Nokia 3120 doesn't have any problems with the signal strength (T-Mobile and E-Plus).

I'm also finding this. I get a random drop out of signal, random drop to No Service, then randomly back up to full strength. My other phones have no problems sustaining the signal. Interesting...

@WilHarris
Where are you from? What provider do you use?
I believe I will give Germany's Vodafone and O2 a try on Thursday. It's really frustrating to have an unlocked iPhone and there are still major problems.

I'm having the same problem in Canada. I unlocked my phone last night, popped in my Rogers SIM card, and nothing. "No Service". The iPhone can't (or won't) locate any wireless carrier. Going through the Carrier option in the preference; both the automatic and manual settings for carrier come up blank.
I don't know if this is a hardware or software issue. Anyone else locally come across this? Or better yet, any solution??

I used the free unlock and my signal is better than any other phone I've had.

It's pretty weird, from one minute to the next, it goes from 5 bars to 0 bars -- and after a minute or so, it goes up again to 5 bars and then, once again, down again to 0 bars etc. Merry go round.
No software or hardware solutions?
