Exactly... but why do you think people make all sort of mistakes? If the DEV-team just released the program with a guide (and the program is bug-free of course, which i dont know anything about) then all the doubt would have been gone, and the rumours about the program would have been good... How hard would that have been?
I followed all the steps and got the error "unlock failed unlock failure the flash operation succeeded but the unlock commands failed. you might want to check the baseband manually using minicom". So I used the unlock.pxl instead and it worked.
the only thing I can think of may be that people that have been unsuccessful with other methods than anySim is failing this.. Cause if the program works like a charm, it would be kinda weird that so many people were having problems out if the box.
So in addition to this poll, people should have said if they did it with an out of the box iPhone, or one that has been hacked before
Worked for me with no errors!!!
Same error as everyone else - baseband fails to respond to the dreaded AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" with an OK. Swapping sims, rebooting, nothing makes a difference. If I run anySIM again - I get the "Unlock Failure,Couldn’t locate bytes to patch." I then logged in with ssh, bbupdate –e *.eep –f *.fls (re-flashed the baseband with fresh files from the 1.02 restore package). I then restored the iphone in iTunes to a virginal state and retried. This time anySIM again reported that it couldn’t unlock, that the files were flashed but the baseband was not responding. Essentially, it wants me to go into minicom and issue the command AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" which I did and of course, as always, it came back with ERROR and AT+CLCK="PN",2 returns “+CLCK: 1”
I have two iphones… One was activated (7T726AJ1WH8-MA712), the other left in the box (7U726AWVWH8-MA712). The one in the box unlocked just fine a few days ago using the instructions at http://iphone.unlock.no which I clearly understood. I am happily using it on Globe here in the Philippines. The phone which won't unlock with anySIM seems to have differences from the first which make me think that not all iPhones, regardless of make / model and perhaps serial are not created equal.
My hope is that the Dev team isn't resting on their laurels thinking that this job is done...While I respect what has been done so far, a roughly 60% success rate is still a barely passing grade...
don´t blame anySIM for own foults!
i´ve used anySIM twice:
1. brandnew iPhone
minicom error, but successfully unlocked
2. allready unlocked iPhone
first restore bb with bbupdater and *.fls + *.eep files
then run anySIM
no errors, successfully unlocked
so please read the threads and tuts carefully!
and stop it to blame anySIM!
begin to trust dev team!

Well, ulocked mine with iUnlockd_reloaded. Gave me the error that unlocking failed, but after reboot it was unlocked.
Next day, i flashed the baseband with BBupdater and used AnySim. No error reported and succesfully unlocked.
Most activate their phone using the AT&T sim i think, instead of using their own sim. Also your pin needs to be disabled.

Pendalfpointeed out exactly whats wrong most of the time. You need to restore teh bb for real with the fls. iTunes in most cases saves time bynot reflash the baseband if there is no reason to, so BB gets not flashed. Manufactor seem to use diffrent build with other alignment than the fls we got of the rammdisk. If you have such a firmware, either the patch goes simply int he wrong place and does nothing (requires at this lcoation is teh same 32bit opcode like in fls, can happen) or just tells you it cannot locate teh bytes to patch.
The cannot locate byte to patch error also occures at phones already unlocked, if you had no service before do waht it says and TRY TO USE MINICOM AND CHECK MANUALLY or threw abck the original fls with bbupdater and than start over.
anySIM can hardly do somthing about these issues, they are known but it does all what i tis allowed to do in a legal frame. We cannot distrbute the fls with the app to reflashbefore and we can hardly demand user to plant it themself, or else they could have used the cli tool as well. So we jus tchoose the path we hope which is easiest for the user.
In the end I woudlliek to say that restoring from recovery mode via itunes most of the time prooven to reflash the bb, maybe you want to try this before starting, as the triangle mode should force a FULL restore including baseband instead off hoping the simple click restore in iTunes does it with much luck for you (and won't).
