guys check this out it may make sense watch the video carefully if you can pause when the iphone states no service then pause play pause play several times until you notice something in the video which is not right when the image becomes clear tmobile appears. i dunno when i do it , it seems like there are two iphones which were switched so fast. and please notice the fingers of the guy first three fingers then when tmobile appears one finger...... i hope everyone else sees this then atleast we can say that we were fooled............heres the link...

Yes actually i do believe u in this moreover he was covering the sim catd and showing the letter T only just to fool us because there were actually 2 mobiles with 2 different sims and he also didn't show the network of the other mobile and was putting it in an orange cover just to make us feel he is only using one mobile ... What a scam !!!!

Although Engadget may not put their reputation in risks, it seems if it turns out to be scam, people will still read Engadget..... ha

I just wonder why no signal beside T-Mobile still can make call ?

maybe that's an affect of the unlock s/w

when he makes the call you can still see the T-Mobile carrier name top left.

I believe that the reporter might have been tricked rather than him trying to trick us. He could have been given the hardware unlocked set as a demo unit so that he can put his SIM card and given the impression that it is software unlock. There's no way to tell whether is it s/w unlock or h/w unlock unless he open up the cover... isnt it?

watch carefully? I noticed the cut first time i saw it. They just cut the video, because it took too long for the t-mobile to show up. Anyone who thinks engadget i part of a hoax is fuckin nuts.

who cares if its a feke or not the method works gread i have e-plus on the place where he has his t-mobile logo....

Interesting that last weekend the shops in HK were selling (TurboSim) unlocked iPhones for ~ 14,000 HK$ (approx 2,000 us$). This weekend the price is 6,000 hk$. Clearly they think they have to re-price in light of recent events.
