It will run for a minute or 5 max. Meanwhile, dont loose the wifi or do other stuf on your phone. Leave it

And autolock is set to never?
It is and the process endet without any problems! Yipeee!
I now (after restarting CommCenter) try to restore the phone via itunes and hopefully, this time it will work using anySIM.
Thanks so much for taking so much time in explaining the steps again and again, I would have been lost without your help! It#s strange that this bbupdater thing doesn't arise more often. I mean once you tried the unlock and it failed you HAVE to do this, right?
Strangely, after restoring the Firmware, the iPhone doesn't recognize the at&t SIM. When you unlocked, did you start off with your new SIm all along or with at&t?

Congratulations, your no longer a Noob
Some need to restore, others have an error and it is still unlocked. Now, start unlocking, starting and only using your own sim. (pin disabled) (Needed for activation with independence) You can do this in another phone if needed.
Activate with Independence so you have youtube working
and the rest of the unlocking. (remember, if you are jailbroken with independence, you must return to jail if you want apptap installed
Report back if you succeeded
I first had the supersim method, then when the free unlock came along, i used my own sim. The AT&T sim is gathering dust as it is not needed during this unlock.

Similar problem. Just reflashed with bbupdater, went smoothly. Restored using itunes, now says original att sim is incorrect sim and hangs on activation screen. At this point I just want my original sim to work. I was just unlocking for fun!

I do? I wonder why that is. After all I need to jailbreak in order to install SSH and being able to install apps. I will try that.

cause apptap does things (jailbreaking) differently. You can install all what you need or want with apptap. Also, if you install dropbear, dont install openSSH from apptap. They can cause issues.
With apptap installed, you can always add or delete what you want using a fugu or your cyberduck

Have you used independence to activate it? You can also try to patch lockdown. Search this forum and you will find a patched lockdown and instructions. That way, iphone will never say that it needs to be activated when you put in a sim

you dont have an option to unlock? press yes and enter your pincode for the simcard
when i start thinking, is this the same you had each time? If yes... You done all the work for nothing, cause some providers have the simcard locked. It comes with a pincode. After inserting the sim, your phone asks for the sim to be unlocked in a pop-up. You only needed to enter your pincode and you were good to go.
