its okay if anyone is skeptical, but i meant that itunes DID NOT tell me that an upgrade was available, however it only took me to the activation page....i cannot give more proof like videos because i cannot go through the whole process again....any other kind of proof i can give?

Guys, however the technicallities would go with the serial numbers and stuff , i hope a senior member can help, but this is how i figured out that mine has a new version and not the old one... if it was a rumor i wont be trying this hard to prove it or convince any of you skeptical people. Unless someone can prove to me that my serials indicate that it has the old version, then case closed.

your serial number doesnt say much, only that you had a 50% chance of receiving either versions of the firmware. week 39 phones have been 1.0.2, AND 1.1.1

however, people are saying IMEIs with 11300xxxxx are 1.0.2 and those that are 11301xxxxx are 1.1.1

and YOURS points to reason that the phone is a 1.0.2 from the start.

No way your the only person on the planet to unlock 1.1.1 using common 1.0.2 unlocking tools... get over it, 1.0.2.. Good for you, but just dont give false hope... end this post if your really interested in helping other people!

If that is the case then, im sure many of you know more about serials than I would. Thank you for those who convinced me otherwise, as well as enlighten me with something i did not know. But i am pretty sure that itunes did not tell me anything about an update...I dont know if that proves anything..

Even though i gave false hope, or an invalid title, im not dissing anyone nor being rude in the process...being skeptical is good, but no need to be rude come on, AGAIN, i thank those who helped me understand this.

Good idea, I agree that it would prove something here, but i am too excited to take the risk to be honest, not trying to be a wuss, but if anything goes wrong, i am not much of an expert here, nor have easy access to more iphones like many of us here...I am sure someone would be generous to do that though.

bader please close thread and change topic.. if you want to discuss more open another topic.. or basically change the title to original thread.. people don't get in here confused .. trying to unlock the phone version 1.1.1 and they might end up damaging their phones..

update to 1.1.1 - then make a movie how you downgrade and post it :-D
