I dont know if I get your post correct. But to your new computer the iphone is a new device and iTunes on the computer wants to know if the iphone contents should be synced. In that case it's going to delete all the contents and sync from iTunes/Outlook/.., whatever you choose to. That would be the same as connecting the iPhone to another computer - thats the case

yea almost... but no my com went ill with a virus so had to reinstall everything which sucks... but now my itunes thinks the iphone is a new device and asks delete if I want to sync... can I work around this? or do I have suck it up and do it all over (the bad thing is now that my itunes library is empty) so at the moment syn equals plain deleting of all music on the iphone...

I have been using TuneJack recently to get all songy from my friends computer back, but its 10$ shareware (http://www.purpleghost.com/index.php?q=get_tunejack). Another alternative is Copytrans (http://www.copytrans.net/?redirect=de), shareware aswell.
There is PC suite (a thread here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=17782 ) doing kind of the same.

After that (having back all stuff from the iPhone) you have to setup iTunes for syncing (and deleting).

    Check your pm

    hope that helps
