Default OTB1.0.2 upgraded to 1.1.2 without Oktoprep... Now stuck in DFU

    Hi,

There is a friend of mine... he has an OTB1.0.2 and he wanted to upgrade the phone to 1.1.3 using the Official dev team 1.1.3 upgrade package. He upgraded his phone to 1.1.2 instead of upgrading it to 1.1.1!

He ran the 1.1.2 Jailbreak without doing the Oktoprep on 1.1.1. Now iTunes only recognizes the phone in DFU mode (only DFU because in windows device manager the DFU driver is loaded).

Whenever I try to upgrade or downgrade the phone, iTunes gives the Error 6 "Unknown Error occured while restoring your phone".

I figured a way to put the phone in restore mode, by making itunes restore the phone to any firmware and a few seconds after "preparing the phone to restore" i kill the iTunes process and this gives me the phone in restore mode according to iPhuc. I tried iBrickr to boot the phone but it shows the green screen! I even tried the ZiPhone -e switch but it gets stuck "working".

Any solution to problem because i have tried to restore the phone to 1.0.2/1.1.1/1.1.2/1.1.3 and even 1.0.0.

    Any ideas, Thanks.

try a different computer is my advice to you!

iTunes can be a pain in the arse from time to time and I am sure swapping PCs will fix this! (either that or reinstall itunes but I suggest swapping computer as its a lot easier!

Using an older version of itune could also give you that error. Try updating itune.

he tried to downgrade on his computer. and now i tried it on my computer with the latest version of itunes 7.6.1

i suspect the baseband is corrupted! is there anyway to restore the baseband in dfu? because ziphone -e gives the error of "iPhone in DFU Mode. Run iTunes and restore firmware!" and then done!

its not the baseband. its itunes. I straggled with an iphone stuck in DFU for hours only to change pcs and have it jailbroken in 15 minutes!
