Optus PrePaid:Australia: Signal Dropping Out?
Hey guys...
Id be talking on the phone or something, and then the signal will just randomly drop out. Even if im sitting under a tower..it would still drop out.
Has anyone had this problem with this network or any other networks? Is it the iPhone? or did i fuck something up when i opened it?
Btw, i software unlocked it.
Cheers.

Hey,
Not an answer to your question but am using an Optus post-paid sim in my phone. Seems to be working fine. Are you sure it's not just some intermittent issue with the network?

hmmm strange. I'm on an Optus plan (not pre-paid), and last week I was having this exact problem. It would be full bars, then drop down to nothing. It seems to have stopped over the past few days. I wonder if Optus were having problems and it was simply a coincidence...?

I'm seeing a different symptom here. It seems once I lose signal (for example by placing phone in a locker), I won't be able to receive calls even if signal is regained (full bars) later. Only until I make an outgoing call can I receive calls again, and sometimes even that takes a few tries. Anyone else with similar problems?

Dont think its an Optus issue
I have the same issue with vodafone, hardware unlock and its been patchy since day 1 (4 weeks or so)

I am thinking that it may be in relations to the iphones hardware? Maybe its not able to pick up signal as well as other phones can?

I'm with Optus plan. Used IPSF software and don't have an issue. Once again the only issue I have is with the voicemail notification not coming in and even the missed calls notification not coming on.
