    Default Operator codes

Has anyone figured out a way or developed an app to deal with the pesky problem of operator codes. I am in Peru and to call long distance, an operator code is needed. That means that if I wish to store numbers in my address book, and use them to call on my Iphone, I need to enter two numbers; one for calls within Peru and one for calls outside of Peru.

Operator code ??? as in you actually need to speak to someone who connects your call?

    That sounds very old fashioned.

You should be able to enter all your numbers as + country code/region code then the number.
eg +51 xx xx xx xx (drop the first zero if there is any - not a mobile number)
+51 x xx xx xx xx (mobile numbers - always begin with 9)

If you ring numbers in this format from within peru, they work as normal (and will cost the same as ringing without the +51) - also if you ring from outside peru - they work.
