    Default Is it ok to restore after free software gui unlock?

    So I successfully unlocked my phone with the GUI this afternoon, but I was wondering if anyone has tried to restore the phone in itunes after the unlock...does the unlock still work after the restore?

    Default restore and start over

    If you restore your iphone you will have to start over because the unlock software will be replaced by the restore.

    Yes, I have tried it even a couple of times. Only thing you need to do is run Independence again.

    Short answer

    You won't have to do it again if you restore from a similar version.

    Long answer

    If you restore with a more recent firmware version, then you'll have to do it again if the baseband firmware located in this more recent firmware is more recent than your current baseband firmware version

    so 1.0 -> 1.0 ok
    1.0.1 -> 1.0.1 ok
    1.0.2 -> 1.0.2 ok
    1.0 -> 1.0.1 not ok
    1.0 -> 1.0.2 not ok
    1.0.1 -> 1.0.2 ok

    I have unlocked 30 iphones using HW, iPSF and SW (devwiki) and they are all restore resistant. All you have to do after restore is reactivate.
