    I imagine they will since they are hoping to "to win customers from rival networks." Unlocking the phone wouldn't be a good way to do this!

    Although, sounds like there will be a crack very soon ...

    All phones are SIM-locked in UK unless you buy from someone like Expansys. I paid 15 pounds to get my Nokia N70 unlocked by T-Mobile.

    Post O2 confirmation

    I have just spoken with a pal who works at O2 who says "it is true but there has been no official line from O2 internally", so only unofficial confirmation from those in the know.

    Good enough for me!
