O2 Ireland - Not Supporting/Activating non Irish iPhones
Hello there everyone. As far as I was aware from reading here once the iPhone was launched in a country you were able to take your US/etc purchased iPhone pop a sim for the correct carrier in your country that was supporting the iPhone in and activate it. I know that someone told me you can't do this in France.
Well I tried this earlier in Ireland as it launched this morning and wanted to make my unlocked iPhone legitimate (even with the rip off price tariff's) but it gave me the message that the sim was not supported. Called 02 Customer Care to be told that they would not support an iPhone not purchased in Ireland and I had to use the sim that came in the box with the iPhone purchased in Ireland.
Seems there will be more unlocking going on in the Emerald Isle in the future.
Cheers everyone.
