number recognition problem with iphone in germany...
hi, using an iphone on e-plus in germany and i just noticed something pretty annoying...
i have saved ALL my numbers in address book in international format, e.g. +49-172-xxxxxxx and so on where in this example 49 is the international country code for germany.
when someone calls me while i am in germany whose number i have in my address book it is just transmitted without the country code, e.g. 0172-xxxxxxx. so the iphone doesnt link it with my saved contact and just shows the number.
every cellphone i had in the last few years handled this "problem" without any special settings and just showed the contacts name... is there a workaround to this? of course i could just change all my numbers to the local format without +49 but then i cant use them when i am abroad (which is quite a lot), and the iphone doesnt let you edit numbers right before you dial them. or i could save them once in each format but that seems not very elegant to me....
any ideas?

ok i have been reading up on the topic a bit.. should have done that before posting, i know...
anyway as i see it the problem is not solved yet right? i have to save the numbers in two formats, seems like the only way. or did i miss something?
also, i couldnt find a script to do the number changing/adding... maybe someone would be so kind and share his?
thanks

There is no fix from Apple but on
http://iphone.fiveforty.net/wiki/index.php/AppSupport
you can download hacked Versions of AppSupport wich will do what you want.
