    Default Number Formats

I'm still having a problem with number formatting, and it's getting on my nerves now. I've tried various things (different plist files, tweaks, etc and searching around here and on modmyifone brings up the same methods I've used before), but my number still shows up as 07792-000000 in the phone app.

I know it's not a big deal for many but it's just one of those things I want to fix. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

There is an interesting thread about this somewhere on this forum, with a lot of info. Try searching. Good luck!

In my original post, I say I have searched both here and on MMI. I was just wondering if anyone else had any different solutions other than the ones posted - or any advice.

    Thanks

you havent supplied enough info to actually get more help than that. ie verson numbers country/region, country/region settings in phone.

...and it should have been in the thread title aswell as per the sticky

    try this

Changing phone number formating: (123) 456-7890
    Formatting is stored in:

/System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ABPhoneFormats.plistDownload this file from your phone. The file is stored in binary format, so you'll need to convert it to text. Now save this file and open it in a text editor. Change the formatting under us to look like you want (if you find your region in the file, just copy from your region to the us). There's probably some way to just make it use your language (instead of 'us'), but i don't know where you specify that. When you are done changing formatting, save the file and upload it to the iphone in same directory you found it. You don't need to convert i back to binary.

Update for 1.1.1 users: In previous versions locale settings did not apply to number formatting. I noticed that in 1.1.1 it does, so it's better to change the phone's locale configuration instead of changing the formatting manually. Install "Enable International Menu" found in the Unlocking Tools category.

Sorry, I'm running 1.1.2, and in the international settings I have language: English, Region format: United Kingdom.

As to the person above me, I don't have a ABPhoneFormats.plist in /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBookUI.framework/ ...unless there isn't supposed to be one in 1.1.2..

    Thanks

LOL, I'm silly. I've got it working now.

Thanks to everyone for all the help =D

Damn: Now I have another problem, when I'm dialing on the keypad, the numbers are coming up in the wrong format now

for example mobile numbers used to be all one number, but now they have a "-" eg 07776-097654

Thanks for that, it fixed my keypad problem, but now my number is messed up again in my contacts :|

What's going on with my iPhone, why can't both number formats work at once? ie without any "-"
