It worked, that's the main thing. And if I hadn't set up a PIN on my sim card it would have been done in 3 minutes rather than 3 hours of head scratching!

Just disable the sim pin.

Yep this doesn't sound like a show-stopper, but I wonder what other little glitches will be discovered when it's tested on the early adopters in their many thousands as opposed to a few closed tests by IPSF and selected journalists...
I'll be waiting this one out and sticking with turbo-sim for the meantime

I bought a license myself but the only advantage I really see to this software unlock is the turbosim prices goind down. I rather use hardware that doesn't void my warranty.

So far everything is fine: Calls, Voicemail, SMS, wifi, iPod, email.... I can't think of anything that it didn't do before the SW unlock apart from the phone features.

one of the problems people seem to be reporting is that they can't receive sms's where the 'from' number is actually alpha text (like i get some from my bank and it says from: bankname, not from a nuumber).
i tested this myself by sending an sms from yahoo messenger which does the same thing.. it says from: username and it didnt come through.
i think these sms's actually do get to your sim card but they don't get onto the phone. someone also reported that they did receive one after a few hours but when they opened it their phone hung.
can you test with yahoo messenger?? cheers..
