I added another phone to my ATT account. So now I have 2 lines. Line one is my iPhone. Line two is my blackberry.

Just for the fun of it I just yanked out the blackberry sim and put it in the iPhone. It worked. No problems. No error messages. Just a normal working iPhone.

I've not done any hacks or cracks or anything like that. Did something change after the update? Has anyone else noticed this?

Hmm, well the IPhone is not able to "know" that you have a second line (I guess?)...
So it could have been any card, hmm, but it was another AT&T card, so it has the same carrier ID, is it possible that you try a non-AT&T card?

nope, afaik it is still supposed to recosgnize its a differen t SIM and ask to connect to itunes (it wont ask for any SS# or anything like that, just connect and it will "activate").... weird how it doesnt ask you for that...

Any updates? are you on 1.01?

Are you able to make calls?
