How do you start bbupdater without wifi (and as such no access to your phone ? )

He probably installed Terminal on the phone. When I did the geohot hack, I had the same problem. But restoring replaced the baseband firmware. I was quite long. I did it on my PC. Didn't try the Mac. Did you try to continue the unlock process from the Terminal?

I do not have terminal installed on the iphone, I tried to do a restore from both a mac and a PC.. No luck.
Both give me an error 1011.
Trying to find a way to force baseband firmware flash, just in case

I do have MobileTerminal installed.
I did minicom, NORdumper, ieraser, iunlock on Terminal, stuck on the iunlock output
Maybe I try update to newer firmware if it's available on 5/9

IMEI and no wifi, i rate something wrong with your commcentre file.

I deleted CommCenter.plist when I tried HW unlock
but I thought a restore will give me the file back, right?
Now my commcenter.plist content is
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>Label</key>
<string>com.apple.CommCenter</string>
<key>MachServices</key>
<dict>
<key>com.apple.commcenter</key>
<dict>
<key>ResetAtClose</key>
<true/>
</dict>
</dict>
<key>OnDemand</key>
<false/>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter</string>
</array>
<key>ServiceIPC</key>
<false/>
</dict>
</plist>
Any idea?

basically someone with a WORKING iphone needs to do a dump of /dev/tty.baseband using the same method iEraser uses to erase but write it to a file...
then we need to get that dump and develop an app to do the same but write over with the correct data

Sounds good, someone willing to help us?
I hope someone can find a solution to our problem.
