Odd, as I get a voicemail notification icon with Rogers. The SMS messages that indicate new voicemails received don't actually show up anywhere (which I consider a good thing, as they always cluttered my SMS inbox ), but there should be a red dot that shows up over the phone button (on the main screen) or the voicemail button (on the phone app screen) indicating when you have new voicemail messages.

The only problem I've had is finding a way to turn this OFF when my mailbox is already empty. The iPhone seems to default to having it ON after a reboot, and the only way to clear it thus far has been to leave myself a voicemail message, and then delete it (thus forcing the Rogers network to actually send a reset command to the iPhone).

However, once it's off, it should stay that way until you actually receive a voicemail message, or spend more than a few minutes out of cellular coverage (it comes on when coverage is regained, for some odd reason, even if you have no new voicemail messages).

Oh, and it also stands to reason that you need to make sure that message waiting indications are turned ON in your voicemail preferences themselves... I think it's menu option 4 then menu option 1 from your voicemail box.
