Hi. Not sure why its doing that. Which baseband are you using ?
Instead of restarting your iphone, try toggling airplane mode on/off to regain your signal.

ok try downgrading to 1.1.4 and downgrade the baseband to 04.04.05_G by means of kiphone. Then DFU restore to 2.2.1 and check if the problem is solved.

that is also my current plan. already downgrading to 1.1.4
what i also noticed, that when the NO SIM message appears, my ICCID is not showing anymore. when i get one "lucky restart" and everything works, my iccid is ok.
i will update after down/re-upgrade

yes, tryed a TIM (italy) sim and a telering (austria)..
with both sim i had never any issues..
after downgradet itunes to 7.5 and restored to 1.1.4 im stucked in recovery mode, endless reboot.
tryed iLiberty, inDependence and the IPHUC cmd "cmd fsboot"
IPHUC says "BUS error" and quits...
// edit:
tryed also iBrickr. cannot get out of rec mode. any other way to erase the baseband on 2.2?
// edit2:
did the whole process again and again, finaly iBrickr kicked me out of recovery. deleted baseband with iLiberty. now restoring again to 1.1.4 . we are gonne see if that solves my issue
// edit3:
after eraseing the baseband restoring to 1.1.4 without error, i pwnd my phone and restored it to 2.2.1. again the same issue. sometimes it works, but mostly i have NO ICCID and NO SIM inserted.
maybe hardware issue? but why is it working sometimes?
i run out of ideas.
anyone?

I feel your pain as I am in the same boat. I think I have gone through the whole downgrade, upgrade process about 10 times this week. I am pretty sure it is a hardware issue
sheeeeeeeit.
Anyone on here actually change their comms board? Any chance that cleared up the wifi, and NO SIM issues?

wifi i got working, so my only problem is that the phone thinks i have no SIM inserted..
does your bluetooth work? if not try reflashing the baseband (if you did not yet)
i sugesst to stay on 1.1.4 so you can easily play with the BB. (should also work on higher firmwares, but i used iLiberty and so i had to stay on 1.1.4)
for my wifi problem erasing the baseband and making a dfu restore to 1.1.4 helped..
