    Default 'No service' issues

    Hi guys,

I've been jailbreaking and unlocking my iPhone 2G since it came out in the UK and have had no problems up till now.

I was running 2.2.1 last week on a T-Mobile (UK) SIM and suddenly my reception changed to 'No service'.

I have since redsn0wed on both (numerous times) Mac and PC successfully but I'm still getting the 'No service' error.
When I go to: Settings>General>About>Network it says 'Phone not allowed'.

I've also tried an 02 simplicity SIM and an Optus (Autralia) SIM with the same results.

In that time I have redsnowedd 2 of my mates 2G iPhones and ultrasn0wed a 3G iPhone successfully with no problem at all.

I also thought that somehow there was an IMEI block on my phone from the network provider. I called 02 and confirmed that my phone has no lock.

I've done a lot of surfing and there doesn't seem to be much on this issue.
Closest thing I can find is that the comm board is damaged???

    Any suggestions ?

    Thanks.

I do not mean to dispute you; if infact you are having "no service" issues with your JB and Unlocked iPhone. My own experience is sometimes it takes several minutes (almost 10) for tMobile USA to recognize my iPhone.

Good Luck. You might want to search iPhone forum discussions regarding earlier FW versions unlocking because I seem to recall then were discussions on "no service" situations with earlier firmware versions.

    Thanks.
My own experience quite a while ago had to do with the comm board, but it wasnt actually damaged.

    http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f127/17154.htm

Zuz had an idea about what could be the problem. His theory was that the comm board was making contact with the rear panel and as a result he got the no service problem. He used insulation on the rear panel to deal with it and seemed to work.
I was the second one-if i remember correctly-to try it with a little modification.I used a small piece of plastic to provide the space required between the comm board and the rear panel. Its been about 1.5 years an everything works fine.In other words he was right about the problem.
I ve used any software solution-with no luck-before opening my iphone and thats what i suggest u do.Check the thread i provided, there are pics and instructions by both of us,in case u go that way.
    Good luck
