No cash accepted when buying iPhone in Apple Stores

Starting today (Saturday, October 20th) all Apple stores will no longer accept cash as a valid payment method when selling iPhones.

Now you can ONLY pay by credit or debit card and no more than 2 phones per customer are allowed. All purchases will be tracked by credit card and when a certain limit has reached (maybe already at two phones?) no more phones can be bought with that same credit card. Looks like Apple is tightening the ropes to avoid export from iPhones from US.

Question: Are US stores really free NOT to accept cash if they want? This sucks!!

I predict an emerging (black) market for iphones --- take good care of the iphones you got, their value can only go up now. ;-)

Let's see if anyone can confirm that gift cards are still accepted to pay for an iPhone. The guy in the store in Aventura Mall (Miami) told me ONLY credit or debit cards were accepted.

I wonder if they would accept credit cards such as those prepaid ones you can get, and Paypal credit cards. Think of how many you could get that way? A well determined person can just get a bunch of prepaid credit cards.
