    Default Niacin's tiff exploit warning

I read earlier about a JB that niacin did. I clicked the link thinking it was a link to his blog and an explanation. Unfortunatley, I was on my iPhone when I clicked that link.

Please don't click Niacin's lin to the tiff exploit unless you are prepared to go through the process (which I wasn't ).

I only clicked the link to the exploit and now my iPhone will not sync with iTunes.

I am trying a restore (AT&T valid account with contract, 1.11) and will keep you updated.

Niacin, maybe you want to put a warning about clicking that link on an iPhone please?

Update, no my iPhone will not restore now. That was totally uncool. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

    Another update:

After 4 failed restor attempts. i was able to restore. It then needed activation. I guess because my account is valid with ATT, it did restore. It did wipe everything out on my phone. I am now synching from my backup.

I do appreciate Niacin's efforts but DO NOT click the tiff ecploit unless you are really prepared to go down the JB road.

PS. I am a 20 year computer programmer so I think I know my way around the computer but still, I'm not enteriley sure I don't want Apple to close this exploit because it is malicious in the wrong hands.

hmm, i got it into restore mode by doing the 10-second home & top button holding, then releasing the top button until itunes said it was in restore mode. it goes thru the restore fine (so it seems) and then when it reboots, itunes gives me error 0xE8000025. the iphone is in "please activate, swipe for emergency" mode.

google says 0xE8000025 is from bad ascii chars in the username on windows itunes, but 1. im not on windows and 2. theres no way for me to change the name at this point. i am on a mac g4 and i have legit at&t service. ugh! stupid tiff link!!

That sucks man... There wasn't a warning on the site saying this is the link to the actual exploit and to not click it if you are on an iPhone?

nah, some tard put the jailbreak tiff link right on digg. i was tired and just reading up on the jailpreak progress on google reader from the iphone before i went to sleep. safari crashed but i didnt realize what really happened until i tried to sync it in the morning.

    -----
UPDATE: rebooting the computer seems to have fixed the 0xE8000025 error. phone now syncing everything again!
