Hi folks,

obviously the team did a great job unlocking the voice traffic to different GSM providers, but technically the phones are ready to do something much bigger - reroute it over VoIP whenever wifi is present. One commercial implementation of this principle is T-Mobile's 'Hotspot@Home'. Their model is that calls become free this way for $10/month.

Obviously, there will be more public wifi networks, and even now most people from this forum have one at home and work. So, if we implement this and pair with suitable VoIP provider, for us that would mean 90% calls becoming free or 1-2c /m. Definitely beating all the plans forever.

It would be sure too much to ask people work on that... but what if we start sharing ideas?
