Next big challenge: T-Mobile HotSpot@Home with iPhone
I suspect we'll see a full software unlock soon, a big party, and lots more iPhones sold.
Then, the iPhone hacker community will be looking to turn its formidable resources to its next big task. I propose that this task be the ability to make cost-effective Wi-fi calls on the iPhone. Skype/Vonage VoIP clients are options, sure... but they are kind of a pain in the ass, and don't make for as "seamless" of an experience as T-Mobile's GSM / VoIP handoff.
It would be cool to see a client written to "emulate" whatever protocol and authentication checks T-Mobile does to work with the iPhone... and since we're on a VoIP system, we would then have the ability to have voicemail delivered as .AMR files, and listen to them off-line.
I don't work for T-Mobile, I swear! I just believe in their vision ... use of WiFi and VoIP. I see the iPhone as a perfect fit. Look at the evidence: Wi-Fi, beautiful piece of hardware, AT&T isn't subsidizing purchases anyway, and the iPhone doesn't support 3G. There is NO additional benefit to going with AT&T.
what do you guys think?

I'd rather them just work on repairing the bluetooth and visual voicemail I think it would be a lot simplier and more people would benefit. That's just my 2 cents.
