new OS partition of 2.0
how big is the 2.0 firmware OS partition? there are tow partition to iphone, right? one for the OS one for the Media files. how big is the OS partition now? i was just wondering since apple is allowing third party apps now (they're selling some of them at the app store) did they even care to put a larger partition unlike before which is only 300mb for the OS, and the rest of the gigabytes for the Media files.
please answer that question because that's the only remaining nail to my 1.1.4 coffin before i make the jump to 2.0. i'm planning to install a hell lot of apps (free of course
) and i'll be very discouraged to know if they didn't even increase the size.
thank you.

The new 2.0 OS partition size is 500MB, but you can change it while creating a custom Firmware with Pwnage.
You don't have to worry too much about the size as the AppStore apps are stored in /private/var/mobile/Applications/
So they are not in the OS partition but in Media partition.
Also when you add Cydia in your custom ipsw to install 3rd party community apps it will automatically move your Applications folder to /private/var/stash/Applications.xxxxxx and symlink it to /Applications.
The only limit now is about Springboard that supports only 9 pages of icons (as Steve Jobs said at the Keynote).

Amazingly Knowledgeable
Array
Installer.app and Cydia apps are still gonna be stored in the System Partition right? Because I made my system partition 1.5GB so I have enough room for apps.
