Sorry if the topic is misleading.

Question...

1. How is the Firmware going to work when there are multiple carriers carrying the iphone?
Is each carrier going to have its own firmware?
Is each carrier going to have a file like blackberry does "vendor.xml"?
Is there going to be a way to use another carriers firmware?

2. If nothing above makes sense does the iphone strictly rely on a hardware lock then?

3. You think once all the carriers have it Apple will make an unlocked version of the iphone?

I can't see them keeping it locked forever when every carrier has it..

I know when some of these have answers I will have more...

Come on someone must have a friend that has a friend that knows an uncle who's wifes third cousine works at apple and they told you something... come on anyone....

there wiil be an unlocked iphone avalible in france before the end of the year as french law prohibits phone company's only selling locked phones (no prices yet tho)
