Ok I thought it would be good to start a questions and answers thread for people to help each other out.

There are a few crap guides out there that miss a lot of info (mainly on the software side) and offer no solution. While I try and make my own guide we can discuss all problems here.

- I am not allowed access to copy/delete/rename/move: A: Make sure you set your permissions via WinSCP to 0755.

- I don't have a usr/local/etc folder: A: You can just create a folder in /etc using Winscp and name it etc. Then copy Termcap to this.

- I can't get Putty to "reboot" or "minicom": A: Make sure you have the BSD Subsystem Installed. This can be found via Installer.app/AppTapp.

- Putty just quits after I type 3 Letters: A: Try Re-install your BSD Subsystem. If this doesn't work, try a restore.

- Minicom -s can't save settings: A:...??

- Wifi Has stopped working: A: ...

- Do I need my Sim card in when unlocking?: A:...

- Do I need the iphone plugged into my computer when unlocking? A:...

- Does NORDumper give you a "completed" message after you wait "10 to 20 mins"?: A:...

my question/problem... minicom doesnt work, i jus dl iBrickr to install installer bute the thing is iBrickr does not find my iphone

phone is on I switch i off/on pull the calbleout but ot back in but nothings helps..

same problem in brazil....

Have you got itunes loading up in the background? Sometimes for me itunes would interfere.

I would plug in the iphone, wait until itunes opens, then I shut it.

Then open ibrickr and try again.

nopes....only applemobiledevice running....should i shut it down?

Just create a new etc folder in /etc and then copy termcap to that

How do you set permissions to 0755 in winscp? Is it a command line you type into the prompt? If so what is it?

go properties of the file you want to change (using winscp) and then edit the 644 octel to 755.

you will need to do this on any file you want to execute....so a good 5 or 6 times on 5 or 6 different files.

For this one, from my experience, is perhaps when you connect the 1.8v to the trace, your needle touchs the second trace or both first and second instead of only touching the right trace. I think that will give the chip a shock and erase or demage the wifi chip, when it shows "NO WIFI" you can try a iTunes restore, if you're lucky the WIFI goes back after that. but shit happens, i know someone in irc channel who had permanently demaged his wifi function. But all above just my guessing because i couldn't anything else that would cause that problem. my point is, because with those small lines....

yes during the whole process your iphone and your computer must be connected.

It returns to the ssh prompt, and there is a 4098 kb dumpped file.

be very careful with the unlocking thing, it's much more dangerous than the guide reads. my iphone is dead, it stuck with recovery mode now. i can only pray someone could help me out of that...
