Default Need help obtaining photo from contact

I have an image that is stored for a contact. I ended up having to restore my phone and lost the original photo before I transferred it to my computer. However, after the restore and syncing my contacts back over, the image is still there for that contact. This means that the contacts and image is stored somewhere on my computer to be transferred back over to my phone.

I'm running Windows XP and it says that my contacts are being synced with Windows Address Book. Does anyone know how I can somehow extract/export the photo that is being store in this contact?

I'm not sure you can extract the picture from Windows Address Book, as it doesn't support contact pictures. Outlook 2007 and Vista "Contacts" folder do. Try exporting your contact to a vCard (.vcf) file, then open it with a text editor. If you see a line that looks like "X-PICTURE" and a bunch of weird looking lines (that should be base64 data), then copy those lines into a new file and use any online base64 converter to decode the image.

However, if you can see the picture in your iPhone's Contacts app, you can get it back. You'll need to jailbreak and use SSH or a tool such as iPhoneBrowser or DiskAid to copy /var/mobile/Library/AddressBook/AddressBookImages.sqlite to your computer. Then open the file with SQLite Manager for Firefox.
Now the difficult part would be finding the row corresponding to your contact, so you might need to cross-reference the row IDs from the main address book database (AddressBook.sqlite).
After you find your contact, double-click the row and click the "save" icon to the right of the "data" field.
