    Default need help editing Edge Settings.plist for EDGE proxy port

    I am trying to add the port number to edge setting, so I can add port 8080 to my APN on Tmobile now that I can use my network. This would enable http + email on Tmobile for $5.99/mo. (email is already working now)

    Does anybody know how I can enable this cell in the plist?
    (from Settings/General/Network/EDGE)

    file can be found:
    /System/Library/PreferenceBundles/EDGESetting.Bundle/EDGE Settings.plist

    <dict>
    <key>cell</key>
    <string>PSEditTextCell</string>
    <key>get</key>
    <string>edgeProxyServerPort:</string>
    <key>isNumeric</key>
    <true/>
    <key>label</key>
    <string>Port</string>
    <key>set</key>
    <string>setEdgeProxyServerPort:specifier:</string>
    </dict>

    thanks!

    p.s. I've tried editing several times and can get the Port to show up, but it crashes when I enter the value in the field. I admit, I am not plist expert

    in Settings/General/Network/EDGE

    APN wap.voicestream.com

    this will give you email access through T-Mobile. I am trying to enable the PORT menu to add port 8080, which is the proxy for port 80 (for web access)

    It is slow, but for $5.99/mo, it is great for when you need it.

    Yes, it is a binary plist. If you're on a mac, you can convert it in terminal with:

    plutil -convert xml1 FILENAMEGOESHERE.plist (converts to XML)
    plutil -convert binary1 FILENAMEGOESHERE.plist (converts back to binary)

    more info in the wiki, searching 'plist convert'
