    Exclamation Need help bricking iPhone

Hello all..I got off the phone with Apple Care today, and after 2 hours of making up false errors, they agreed to send me a replacement if mine proves faulty.

But now, I'm afraid to send them mine and then have them identify it as a modded phone. SO, the question is, how can I render my phone COMPLETELY inoperable, to the point that restoring it is nearly impossible, and would take more effort then it's worth.

    Thanks in advance...

I would imagine you could start restoring it and yank it out in the middle of the reinstallation. Or access your phone with Cyberduck and start deleting files in it.

Thanks for that man, but where exactly should I yank it out, or does it not matter?

Also, I'm running on a Windows Box, but I could yank out my Mac Book pro if I had to.

    Thanks again

Windows = yuck. You need to relocate that windows box to a near by trash can and start using your MBP. I dont think it should matter, just do the old select all and click delete. Something shoud happen and make the phone not work anymore.

Ok, that sounds good. EXCEPT, I can't get any 3rd party apps on this phone..all I have is that 1.1 invalid SIM screen, and after downgrading to 1.02, I was only able to get as far as putting it in restore mode...

It doesn't matter to me if it's gonna trash this thing, I'm gonna have it replaced anyway. Also, I don't think anything obvious would work..would it? Since they probably received alot of mysteriously *dead* iphones after 1.1

Oh ya, one more thing, my MBPs AC adapter is defective so I can't use that..It has like 15% battery power left, so it's my last resort.

use windows to downgrade to 1.02, then use a mac (any mac) to install ifuntastic 3.03, yank it out right before it finishes running the command-line scripts, and your phone wil be down for good. Try running an iTunes restore afterwards just to make sure.
