Recently, my father bought a new iPhone 4 and I got his old 3G iPhone.
Just some weeks ago, I accidentally dropped the iPhone in water and it got destroyed totally.

Prior to the event I used "Iphone Backup Extractor" to extract my iPhone's backup from itunes to my desktop.

I need to get the Contacts as well as the Calendar information to my father's iPhone.

Is there a way for me to either get the Calendar and Contacts files onto his iPhone or perhaps just to view the files in a text editor, so I could manually add the contacts and calendar information?

Are you trying to MERGE the contacts/calendar from your phone with the ones already on your father's phone?

If you just want to view the contacts, these are sqlite3 databases - there are several SQLite database editors out there for the mac. I think someone also posted a guide explaining how to extract out the information you want from the database as CSV.

There are several solutions to your problem. The correct solution depends on your level of technical expertise and whether you are willing to jailbreak your father's phone.
