Question myFaves on T-Mobile with unlocked iPhone?

I've searched through the forum and while I have found quite a few people who are using their unlocked iPhones with T-Mobile, I haven't found anything about T-Mobile's myFaves feature. Can anyone confirm that it works with the unlocked iPhone, or even if it doesn't have a specific feature on the phone, when you call one of the myFave numbers, is it still counted as such by T-Mobile, i.e., you're not charged for it?

I have myFaves and as far as I know, it's only based on the phone number not whether you have the little circle of faves on your homescreen.

Great! Now I just need to figure out how to unlock this damn thing ;-). There's no way I feel confident enough with a hardware unlock, so I guess I'll just have to wait for the software. Hopefully not long.

I recently tested this on a myFaves FlexPay plan. The myFaves were added from a myFaves compatible device. After replacing the SIM, The iPhone displayed full screen confirmation that the list was updated.

However, after calling one of the myFaves numbers, the minutes were deducted from the Whenever minutes of the account. Customer Care insisted that the device must support myFaves in software for it to recognize myFaves calls and that the iPhone will not do that.

The phone is FW 1.0.2 unlocked via IPSF.

Anyone else have any more information?

I think if you have the regular, non-FlexPay plan, it works. I set my contacts up on my Samsung T519, and when using the iPhone, it works and the calls show up as myFaves calls when I look up my usage on t-mobile.com.

Here's an update: I moved the SIM into a Sidekick 3 (at software version 3.4) and the myFaves application didn't show up on the Sidekick. After calling customer care, the tech "refreshed" the myFaves. The Sidekick displayed a message saying that myFaves was now active and the application appeared. After making a call to test that the Sidekick 3 worked I moved it back to the iPhone.

It works now. I was able to make a call and have it show up as myFaves minutes from the iPhone.

In summary, T-Mobile myFaves on a FlexPay plan works on the iPhone. You will need to set up the your myFaves on a myFaves capable phone first. Then move the SIM back to the iPhone, call customer care and ask them to "Refresh your myFaves." The tech I talked to this time was clear that you really don't need a myFaves phone for the plan to work. You only need the phone for the myFaves application.

Its probably also possible to set up myFaves online then call to have them refresh it, but I did not try this myself.
