    Default Is my wife's 3G a paperweight?

    Hello Guys,

My wife's 3G (full of apps) started having issues a few weeks ago when it froze everytime she tried to end a call.

I tried to restore it to 3.0 and got the 1015 error and then I realized it was on 3.1.2 so I tried again...

Before the restore could finish, I got a Not recognized USB device error message and that was the end of it. I tried everything out there (I'm not a total noob ) and the phone was just stuck on the connect to itunes logo.

I decided to work on it after work but, when I got home the phone was dead and would not even charge.

The charging port looks ok, pins etc... and the charger works fine with my phone.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any advice?

    Thanks in advance!

    Woom

Normally this error is associated with the iPhone 4 and is perfectly ok on that device.

However it could indicate a problem with the baseband of your phone.

Publish your restore log on a pastesite using the guide here http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/130802.htm

I cna't give you any more information without this.

No I was after the whole restore log, the link I posted explained how to obtain that and publish it on a pastesite.

It's not uncommon to get errors in the 101x range when downgrading your iOS version, these usually mean that the baseband can't be downgraded (which is normal and due to the security model that Apple has designed)

Normally, you can ignore such errors and running TinyUmbrella and use the "exit recovery mode" option to get your iPhone back to normal operation.

I'd like to see the log just in case it is a serious problem.

The not recognised error is a bit different, it suggests you have a USB bus problem causes for this can include: overprotective security software on windows, your cable, usb port, drivers, the dock connection on the iPhone.

Again, full restore logs might help determine what the exact problem is.

i'm sure you've tried to put it in recovery mode and then restored on itunes? if not plug in the phone, and open up itunes, once you have done that keep hold of the iphones power and home button untill it resets, once the apple logo shows up let go of the power button and keep hold of the home button it should now show the connect to itunes page on the phone, then itunes comes up with a msessage saying found iphone in recovery mode you need to restore before use, hope this helps, Good luck.
