"My Number:"
At the top of the contacts list is displayed "My Number:" followed by a phone number. The number displayed in this feild is not my number. It is in the same area code though. I called the number and it is just some randome person.
Is there a way to change this?
I searched google with no results. I also tryd searchign the forum but it doesnt seem to let me use "my" so it get way to many resutls.

Sounds like you have an easy way to make a new friend.
Sorry, I have no answer to this, just thought it was an interesting problem and want to give you a free bump

Try rebooting the phone... "My number" seems to be sim/carrier-specific - it's supported by some chips/carriers and not supported by others.. Now when I use my regular sim I don't see "My number" thingie there, just my contacts starting from the top. But if I pop in my wife's sim, it does show her number. Then after I put my sim back, it STILL shows my wife's number until I reboot. So I guess you bought your phone from someone else and it shows his number there. Reboot and see if it's gone.

It can usually be set in other mobiles, like SonyEricssons which I used to set mine. After it's set...on the SIM in another mobile...it turned up in iTunes and on the iPhone

I wonder if a future update to iTunes might check the phone numbers against a database of people who have taken out official contracts. It could do it when connecting to the Apple Store, and if it finds out you've unlocked your phone, it could rewrite its firmware. let's hope they are not this evil!
