Music not recognized, 3.27 GB of "Other"...
So I connect to iTunes to Sync my iPhone and for some reason it's renamed to "Untitled Playlist" and all my music on there disapears from the iPod software, but I can still see it taking up space as "Other" on iTunes on the iPhone... photos, movies, etc are unafected.
I'll just restore I thought... so I haven't DLed 1.1.1 (and don't want to) and I try to restore which is no dice without checking for an update or without a net connection.
My question(s):
How can I get it to re-recognize my music?
or
How can I restore it with 1.0.2?
or
How do I erase the "Other" in order to re-claim this "dead" space? (I've tried SSH into the iPhone but I don't see any files/folders that size: 3,27 GB)

I didn't even know what swaptunes was. I do now. That's not it...
I've SSH-ed into the iPhone and have found what I believe is the iTunes Library... but can't erase it even though I'm root. Dead end there.
Any other ideas?

Got it!
Had to first delete the indiviudal files to create empty folders, then erase the empty folders working my way up to iTunes_Control and erasing that too. All through SSH.
Connected to iTunes, asked me if I wanted to restore from backup (not restore firmware!) which I did, and now it's fine and I've recovered the lost space.
Lost nothing (except time), locked nothing, learned something.
Phew.

I'm also having this "untitled playlist" issue. The problem that I am experiencing, however, is that it converted all of my music, video, etc. to the "other" category. My iPhone was quite full at the time of conversion, so now when it tries to sync, it actually complains about insufficient space. There's no way to delete the information without restoring or going in to manually delete through SSH.
I renamed the iPhone already, but the only other issue is this "other conversion". I'm more concerned about why it happened rather than fixing it. (the solution is stated above where a simple delete of the music/video library will fix it, causing iTunes to resync the library) Any ideas on why the "other conversion" happens?

Your on 1.1.3/1.1.4 right...?
If so, you shouldn't have a itunes_control under root.
Can you play all your music through the ipod.
If you can play your songs then you can safely delete the itunes folder under root.
Even if you accidentally delete the wrong one you can just re-sync your phone with itunes and your music will be back
