dropped iphone, damaged ringer silence button
Here's a new one for ya guys.
Dropped my iphone today for the first time, i knew it was going to happen sooner or later.
My luck, it fell right on the ringer silence switch (the one at the top left hand side) and now the metal seems to be slightly warped. I had the switch set to silent as i was in class, and now the switch doesn't flip smoothly and the icon on the screen no longer shows the bell with the line through it or the bell period. Furthermore, my phone doesnt ring anymore, any suggestions? should i go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings?
the phone is unlocked, will resetting it cause the iphone to be locked again? thanks for any help/suggestions
if i have seen a little farther, it is because i've been standing on the shoulders of giants

Can't offer any help, just wanted to say that I did the same thing.
I have to put more force on the switch if I want it to silence. I've been debating getting one of those black casings so the metal isn't dented anymore. Also will be different than anyone elses around here, although I've never actually seen one myself :-)
Phones:

I have a iphone that was dropped on the power on/sleep button. the button is perm wedged in, and will not release out. I tried to pry it out with a thin knife but its almost as if the spring mechanism inside is broken. I looked online but it seems like all the third party iphone spare parts sites dont have the buttons in stock yet. Hopefully one shows up soon. maybe you can find a new button/back panel and get yours fixed.

Fix..
I saw this on eBay, its the back cover but it also comes with the full internal metal structure, rear chrome logo, camera lens, mute button and volume button. Im not sure if it is pre-installed on the back case though. If it is, all you would have to do is take off the old back, and the ribbon that goes of the Motherboard. Then just pop the new ribbon on the motherboard and put the new back on and your phone would be like new.
If all the buttons are not pre-installed it would be a little more trick but definitely doable. Good luck!
With shipping to the USA it would come to 43.99

I'm having similar issues, from mine being dropped on the side - i can't tell that anything is bent - Would apple allow me to make this a warranty return/fix?
Anyone tried to open theirs and replace the casing just like Jasper found?
Thanks.
