i've had my 1.1.4 phone for long time, used many SMS.
then when 2.0 came out, i istalled 2.0 on another phone and intended to use it only a week or so, and did not load a backup from the 1.1.4 phone.
well, i used it for long time now, and now i'm having a SMS Sqlite file from the old phone, and one from the new phone.

is there a way to merge these to SQLite files together? no matter if its windows or OS X solution, i have both.

I am using the Firefox Plugin SQLite Manager. It is free and for Mac/Win. You have to know what to do with sql statements, but this is the way to go for.

hm,so i downloaded it, opend the database, but i wasnt able to edit the database.
i've created a SQL file with all the "insert into .." messages from the 1.1.4 files, removed the row_id of course (to not overwrite the old messages).

however, i always gets "no such function: read" error.
this is supposed to be something with the triggers (acordung to another thread), but i wasnt able to fix it.



so i guess there is no way into importing 1.1.4 messages into an already existig 2.0.0 table

okey, i read that i could make somthing with these effing triggers.
remove them, insert my old SMS and then rebuild the triggers.

however, the message group ID are different on the two sms.db files, so i would have to, i dont know, script a programm that reads first both DBs and builds the whole sms.db from scratch with new messageids and al that stuff.

it might work, but you think its worth the trouble?

Well, I would not go for it. dont know if there are any sms in your history you really want to keep, but...

Have a look at https://smsmerge.homedns.org/. Somebody did the work already

it seems you made the script.
what happens if the group IDs are different in the two databases?

The group IDs are rebuilt from scratch. The logic is not very advanced(conversations with multiple recipients are not merged), but it works for me.
