I'm thinking of getting the iphone.

Does it support manual network selection or is it blocked by the SIM or software?

If it's blocked is this on the list of things to hack?

it does support munaul network selection.... but currently it is simlocked to at&t... when roaming you can select which ever roaming partner you want to roam with manually, or let the phone automatically connect to the one with the stronger signal.... that's standard with any GSM phone....

Thanks for the info. The reason I asked is that on most Cingular phones the menu option for MNS was blocked by the SIM card. Some phones like the Treo's could be hacked, but a lot of other phones had this functionality crippled.

I saw an option for Carriers under the WiFi option so theres definitely that option to Manually Select providers
