from what I know, mail is download to the phone, which is why there is a trash for the messages (this is even if you tell it to leave the original on the server). I think that safari caches webpages, but whe you shut the phone off, it clears the cache. You may ask wh I think this... well it's just a hunch.

sounds like the way outlook acts if it did not download the full email. you will see it in the inbox, from sender and the topic but if you try to open it will ask to wait to download (if it was not fully downloaded previousley)

I've noticed that mail only downloads so much of your message. If its really big, it'll ask if you want to download the remainder of the message. I noticed it with a really long conversation.

    Hi,

Just looking for a quick confirmation really.

I have an internet email account which has POP3. If I setup mail for this account on the iPhone will it download the messages but still leave a copy on the server?

It's not obvious from the initial setup screen and I haven't gone further yet.

My last phone (Sony M600i) would leave the message on the server which was perfect.

    Thanks.
