maybe someone can help me out with this
my gmail, which i have setted up in the mail app, only checks if I have any mail available while im at home (i dont have edge)
it doesnt check for new mails in any other wifi networks.

any clues on how to solve this?

I can check my gmail with edge or wifi, dont understand what youre talking about. If you dont have edge then just turn on your wifi in your iphone and connect to your network then check gmail. It should work, unless you setup your gmail incorrectly or you forgot to enble "POP" in your gmail (website).

Enable ask to join when running into foreign networks.

Verify that you are indeed dhcp'd by looking at the IP given.

Report back when you find out.
