Default Made a VERY stupid mistake... Unlocked iPhone with wrong baseband firmware

So here's the problem... and I know, I'm a freakin idiot so let's set that aside. I forgot to update the iPhone from 1.0 to 1.0.2 before doing the whole unlocking thing and used the radio/baseband firmware that was in 1.0.2. I unlocked several other iphones before this one and it was the first time I spaced on updating it. I feel really stupid.

I upgraded the iPhone to 1.0.2 and started the unlocking steps over again, but it still won't accept the SIM. I don't even know if the AT&T SIM will work at all.

What do you recommend I do? Thanks in advance!

as a last resort.. you can update your baseband with 1.0 and then try a restore..

also you can try downgrade and than upgrade.. if i remember correct click the update (or restore) while holding the shift key and itunes will ask for the firmware file..

I restored immediately after I put together why it didn't work. The initial restore didn't work. Still freaked out about the SIM card and gave me no service. I think I'm going to restore to 1.0.1 (when the firmware was updated) and then to 1.0.2 and then start the unlock from scratch.

Ignoring our stupid error in the unlock, if you do the full unlock process is it possible to "go back" fully to use a locked phone with an AT&T SIM w/o needing to activate/jailbreak/mod?

Yes, I did... the OS was upgraded to 1.0.2 but the baseband radio still doesn't work.

How do I restore using the 1.0 image? I tried tricking iTunes but it didn't work.

Thanks everyone -- the above URL helped a LOT! I ended up having to restore the iPhone again because after I got "ERROR" when typing AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" I gave up and shut it off... Yep, no Wi-fi. I didn't feel like mucking about with terminal n the iPhone (it's honestly a pain in the ass) so I went ahead and restored then after doing the minicom thing (error included) I was able to flash the EEPROM, load CommCenter and the T-Mobile SIM worked!

This should probably be a sticky, IMO. I'm sure enough people have made this mistake.
