Mac Noob ipsw files download and open as folder

Hey guys so im new to mac and when i download ipsw file (linked from hackint0sh) it downloads to /download and opens up as a folder.
i tried to zip it and change .zip to ipsw but that also didnt wrk, pwnage tools just refuses to recognise it, even when i brows to pick the file

so what do i do????

is there a tick im missing

im dloading pwnage tools again to see if there is something wrong with that...

You have to use Firefox web browser to download or safari, I recommend firefox.

There is a Safari preference to not automatically process known file types - then leaving IPSW as is. I'm not on my Mac at this time, but you should find this setting quite easely.

And yes, even if you do compress folders again, they will be refused to be accepted by either Pwnage or iTunes.
