Lost Contacts - Please Help?

I've somehow lost my contacts, when i restore my phone there are a few options to restore from a backup which I know has my contacts but all of them say they are corrupt or incompatible with my phone. I know my contacts are somewhere saved on my computer through iTunes. Please help!

if you have windows they should be in microsoft outlook

Are you upgrading to 2.0? If so, downgrade too 1.1.4 and then sync with the library. Then set your phone to sync with the mac address book. Alternatively before all that open your address book and make sure you havent already synced with it.
