    Default lockdownd without USB

    Hi everybody,

I am a long term linux user and but very new to iphone hacking. I got a jailbroken iPhone 3GS and I have already read some document about lockdownd and libimobiledevice.
I know that lockdownd has to be access using USB instead of just normal TCP socket connection. Is there any method to hack/patch lockdownd so that I can access it using Wifi or loopback connection over SSH?

    Thank you very much.

    Default

    Anyone knows?

I eventually found out I can make a unix domain socket connection to /var/run/lockdown/localcomm to communicate with the lockdownd locally.

But according to the document here:

    docs:protocols:lockdownd [iPhone Docs]

I should not be able to start/stop service using the local connection? right?

Actually, I found that many-apps inside Cydia (like Erica utilities, Install0us). They seems to be able to start some service like notification_proxy, installation_proxy. How did they do that?

    Thank you very much.
If I am in a wrong forum, can anyone tell me where should I ask/find out the answer?
