Nobody seems to know? Really??? Several days ago I posted question about location of photo albums on the iPhone. I just can't find them. Photos taken with buil in camera are easily found but not the photos transferred to the iPhone :-(

I don't have an iPhone, but i suspect it will be similar to the regular osx-installation...

That would mean that you'd be able to find it in the Pictures folder of the main user... There should be a file called 'iPhoto Library' which is actually a package. If you open the package, you will find the pictures there...

Maybe on the iPhone the files are called somewhat different, but maybe you'll have luck trying to find the pictures in this way... ?

What else do you think is contained in this large *.ithmb files in the "/var/root/Media/Photos/Thumbs" directory? All your synced photos probably?

You're right, thanks. Is there a way however, to access, open and consequently browse (add, remove) those .ithmb files?
The reason I'm asking is simple. All my sync data, including photos, is on external drive connected to my home computer and it would be really great if it was possible to add / remove photos on my other computers without the use of iTunes.

i copied one of the files over ssh to my mac and tried to open the package contents. but no success here. :-( there is probably a way to rename them. *.pkg doesnt work.
