    Default Latest Cydia update

    Hey guys,

Did anyone upgrade to the latest Cydia installer update? There was this PSA like message asking "whether you like jailbreak or not".

I wasn't paying attention and accidentally tapped on no I don't like jailbreak, blah blah blah.

Just wondering what that was about.

    just updated, saw no PSA.

phone is constantly rebooting now, looks to need a restore

Update had Cydia, and a SwirlyMMS2 package...

I recall a Swirly update doing this before actually. I'll blame Swirly before I'd blame Cydia for this waste of my evening.

    Anyone else get this?

I did see the "PSA" you are referring. Unfortunately I did the same thing as you. Before I commit myself to a new procedure I like to see what the alternatives are. I clicked on the "I don't like jailbreak" option. Now I cannot figure out how to bring the original screen back. There didn't seem to be a "back button".

I tried Modify > Reinstall but that did not work either.

My Cydia update was packaged with libhide. It installed okay when I updated it.

My update of Cydia had libhide too, it froze during install, waited like 15 min then shutdown and restarted the iphone, now cydia won't come up, it flashes for a second and goes back to springboard. I've tried reinstalling via ICY, no luck, same symptoms, I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, no luck, same symptoms. Whatever Jay did on the last update, it seems to have made my cydia non functional. ugh. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks to a post by the user dynek on another forum I was able to allow Cydia to capture my ECID files to be stored on Saurik's servers.

Go to the main Cydia screen and scroll down to the very bottom. In the last paragraph "For help with Cydia, Telesphoreo, or developing for iPhoneOS..." the word 'developing' is a link. If you tap the word "[your device] has a pending TSS request" will appear at the top of the page. After a few moments and a reload of Cydia the note will change to "This iPhone 3G[S} has an ECID SHSH on file."

    Hope that helps someone.

Sorry, I can't help you there. Mine installed just fine without any hangups. Maybe a restore is your only option. Hopefully someone else can come up with a better suggestion.

p.s. If you restore, be careful not to grab the newest 3.1 software update if you need your phone unlocked.

I restored last night, phone is working fine now. Restored 3.0.1 used redsn0w, choose the Unlock, skipped Cydia and Icy installs and the phone runs better then it ever has.

Interesting thing is, I had edited my keychain with the dev-teams push fix a while back and iTunes must have backed-up my edited keychain because my push notifications still work after the restore. Cool.

Thanks for the tip Kanavel. There is now another option to get that screen back by clicking on that green button with a ":/" face. There you get to do the TSS request.

Unfortunately for me the result is "This iPhone 3G[S] is not hashed for 3.0: too late. "

Dang it. But I did get the iBEC or iBSS file (can't remember which) manually. Do anyone know whether this would help?

A Follow-up to my own question.

Straight from Saurik, it's no longer possible to get the ECID SHSH on file on the Cydia server. Let's cross our fingers that another exploit is discovered to make jailbreak possible.

If you have ibec + ibss you should be ok.
Apple stopped allowing restoring to 3.0 so you can't get the hash anymore
