Just to clarify: Unlock
Hello,
I just bought an iphone, not for the purposes of the phone, but for the features not present on the itouch: (ie: Native eMail Application, Google Maps, Notes Applet, Weather Applet, and Stock Applet)
Now from what I've read (and can understand), unlocking is only needed when using the phone on a specific cellular network.
If I am just looking to use all of the features and some 3rd party support, am I correct to assume that I don't need to Unlock my iphone, and that I'll just be Jailbreaking it?
Best,
Andy.

Yes. You only need to Jailbreak.
Apple sucks.
Microsoft rules.
TurboSIM-like methods? No way.
- Unlocked Week 47 1.1.3 iPhone, baseband 04.04.05_G.
- Bought in Minneapolis, MN;
- Currently on TIM carrier.
I'm not here to find help. I'm here to help others and give back what I've learned from Hackint0sh.

If you still got the chance, return your iPhone, swap it for a iPod Touch. You can jailbreak the iPod Touch, and through 3rd Party Support you can install the native e-mail program, Google Maps etc. (which is imported from the iPhone) directly on to your iPod Touch.
